This warranty is for manufacturer's defects only. Certain control valve components, such a the main piston, seal & spacers, and the brine valve will experience wear and tear during normal usage of the softener and are not covered under the warranty.
Purchased the unit with ease. Slight delay in delivery but was informed of this immediately and it still arrived within a week. Delivery was excellent. Box in good shape and the driver helped bring it in for me. Had a friend and his son (a plumber) install. Had a few questions and customer service was great. The only downside was no manual for trouble shooting or programming. Taylor from Aquatell sent me an email and explained the set up process. Though that helped us I would have preferred a manual included for my own records and reference. All that being said I am very happy to have the unit in and running. Only on day 2 and I notice a difference in the smell and taste of our water. I would recommend the unit and purchasing from Aquatell. Thank you
This filter was installed in tandem with the AquaSoft Pro water softener. We recently moved to an area that has 300+PPM or 22 gpm water. This is considered high. Ask your municipality for the hardness rating of their water supply because you will need this information when installing the water filter/softener combo. We immediately noticed the hardness of the water. The chlorine smell is pretty much pervasive in most municipalities these days so we used filter jugs for a long time to filter the chlorine from city water. The only problem is that those expensive filters only last a few weeks because of the hard water in our area. So we compared charcoal / water softener units (some all-in-1 configurations) and decided to go with the Aqua-tell product because they are DIY units that are easily serviceable and they both use the Fleck head valve which is well known in the industry as a robust design. Warning - do not start the Charcoal Filter installation without the Aquatell installation and programming instructions. The unit comes with the Fleck 5810 technical manual but this will not help. Once you follow the Aquatell instructions then the technical manual will help define the programming jargon. The unit(s) came assembled and ready to connect to our water lines and storm drain (in our case). Plan your connections ahead of time, buy your supplies (approx $200 CDN for fittings, etc) and connect your unit(s). Startup and programming was simple **if you have the Aquatell instructions. We noticed a positive difference in our tap water the next day. We are pleased with the results and we saved $$$ doing the installation ourselves.
We have had the whole house carbon filter installed for 1 week now and the change in water taste (for the better) was immediate. Shipping and installation relatively simple (thanks to a good friend). Staff at Aquatell (Reid and Taylor) were exceptional at answering any questions that came up through the entire process.
Purchased a water softener and whole house carbon filter to remove chlorine. Very little documentation was included with the equipment. Telephone customer service and Reid was able to send a link to a series of installation videos (only for softener) and provided information on programming the systems. When one buys a product, one normally receives documentation including schematics, instructions for installation, trouble shooting, maintenance, warranty, etc. The equipment seems to be doing the job after some fits and starts on installation due to lack of basic info. Customer service is very helpful however, Aquatell will be rated based upon its professionalism. To be considered a serious player, one needs to do basic legwork like writing manuals like any other appliance provider. Receiving a manual on the Fleck valve only What does that say about whether this company stands behind the rest of the water softener As a customer, I expect to open a box and find: a schematic that tells me how the parts fit together a diagram of the installation what additional equipment is needed to complete the installation If there are installation videos, then tell me where to find them! Think Ikea. As a customer, should I really need to hunt down basic information with multiple calls/emails to customer service Seriously Am hoping that this equipment provides a trouble free experience once the initial hurdles are overcome. Fingers crossed. I cannot say my initial experience has been reassuring.
