  • Luminor RS-B2.5 UV Sensor

    RS-B2.5

    Highlights

    • Compatibility: fits LB5-021, LB5-031, LB5-061, LB5-101, and LB5-151
    • Monitors real UV intensity, displayed on the controller's UV intensity screen
    • Triggers the unsafe water alert when delivered dose falls below target
    • Plugs into the controller's integrated expandability port (IEP)
    • For 2.5 inch chambers only, use the RS-B3.5 on the LB5-201

    Safety & Compliance

    • Disconnect power and depressurize the line before installing or servicing the sensor.
    • Never operate the UV lamp outside the reactor. Direct UV-C exposure burns eyes and skin.
    • For Blackcomb 5.1 systems with a 2.5 inch chamber only. Use the RS-B3.5 on the LB5-201.
    • Requires an RC-B56.01 controller. The sensor will not function on 4.1 series controllers.
    • Do not touch the sensor window or quartz sleeve with bare hands, skin oils reduce UV transmission.
    • Indoor installation only. Must not be exposed to freezing temperatures.
    • A UV monitor reports delivered dose, it does not make unsafe water safe. Continue routine coliform and E. coli testing.
    • On a low UV intensity alarm, stop consuming the water until the cause is corrected and the system is flushed.
    • Clean or replace the quartz sleeve if intensity readings decline, fouling is the usual cause.

    Description

The Luminor RS-B2.5 is a UV monitor for Blackcomb 5.1 systems with a 2.5 inch diameter chamber. It measures actual UV output rather than lamp age alone, so the controller can warn you when water quality or a fouled sleeve reduces the delivered dose.

Regular maintenance ensures your UV system runs safely and effectively:

    • UV Lamp: Replace every 12 months (9,000 hrs)
    • Quartz Sleeve: Replace every 24 months or if damaged/un-cleanable
    • Quartz Sleeve Cleaning: At least once a year during lamp change
    • O-Rings/Seals: Inspect annually, replace as needed
    Lamp Care & Disposal

Some UV lamps contain a small amount of mercury, similar to household fluorescent bulbs. When replacing your lamp, please dispose of it responsibly by following your local municipal or provincial recycling guidelines. Many communities offer Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off programs or recycling depots that accept UV lamps.
