  • Luminor MOD-SOL1 Solenoid Module

    MOD-SOL1

    Highlights

    • Compatibility: Luminor Blackcomb 5.1 and 6.1 systems only
    • On 5.1 systems the module actuates on lamp failure
    • Requires a normally closed line voltage solenoid valve, not included
    • Supplied bare lead cord attaches to the solenoid valve
    • Power cable connects to an outlet, the second lead to the controller's expandability port
    • Ships from Canada!

    Safety & Compliance

    • Line voltage wiring. Install per local electrical code, many jurisdictions require a licensed electrician
    • Disconnect power at the breaker before wiring the module or the solenoid valve
    • Requires a normally closed line voltage solenoid valve, not included. A normally open valve will fail unsafe
    • Match the valve's voltage, pipe size, and pressure rating to the installation before wiring
    • For Blackcomb 5.1 and 6.1 systems only. Requires an RC-B56.01 or 6.1 controller
    • On 5.1 systems the module actuates on lamp failure. It does not respond to low UV dose unless a UV sensor is fitted
    • Install the solenoid valve downstream of the UV chamber and upstream of the point of use
    • Rapid valve closure can cause water hammer. Fit an arrestor where line pressure or flow velocity is high
    • Indoor installation only. Must not be exposed to freezing temperatures
    • Shut-off is a secondary safeguard, not a substitute for routine coliform and E. coli testing
    • After the alarm clears, flush all downstream taps before consuming the water
    • Verify shut-off operation at commissioning and at every annual lamp change

    Description

The Luminor MOD-SOL1 Solenoid Module lets a Blackcomb 5.1 or 6.1 system shut off water flow automatically. On 5.1 systems it responds to lamp failure. Pair it with a normally closed line voltage solenoid valve, sold separately.

    Product Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures your UV system runs safely and effectively:

    • UV Lamp: Replace every 12 months (9,000 hrs)
    • Quartz Sleeve: Replace every 24 months or if damaged/un-cleanable
    • Quartz Sleeve Cleaning: At least once a year during lamp change
    • O-Rings/Seals: Inspect annually, replace as needed
    Lamp Care & Disposal

Some UV lamps contain a small amount of mercury, similar to household fluorescent bulbs. When replacing your lamp, please dispose of it responsibly by following your local municipal or provincial recycling guidelines. Many communities offer Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off programs or recycling depots that accept UV lamps.
