Katalox Light (now called Katalyst Light) is an iron, manganese, and sulfur-reducing filtration media that is commonly used in backwashing water filtration systems. Its unique design wraps a highly-reactive MnO₂ coating around a less dense core. This gives the product less overall weight making it much more suitable for residential water purification applications. Also unique is the ability of Katalox/Katalyst Light to operate in a lower pH range than competitive media products.
