Fluoride Water Filters

A fluoride water filter uses specialized adsorptive media to reduce fluoride, which standard carbon filters, sediment filters and water softeners do not remove. Fluoride can be present in drinking water because it is added by many municipal water systems, or because it occurs naturally in some well water, sometimes at levels above Health Canada’s maximum acceptable concentration of 1.5 mg/L. This collection features Aries fluoride reduction filter cartridges (AF-3690 series), suitable for under sink and point of use systems as well as higher flow whole house applications.

Fluoride filter cartridges work best at lower flow rates, which give the water more contact time with the media, and with a sediment pre-filter installed ahead of them. Their capacity depends on the fluoride level in your water, so testing your water is the best way to choose the right cartridge and estimate how often it will need replacing. For the highest level of fluoride reduction at the kitchen tap, a reverse osmosis (RO) system is also a proven option.
