About Carbon water filters
There's no single filtration media that matches the breadth of contaminants a carbon filter can reduce. Carbon block cartridges are made from finely ground activated carbon compressed into a solid block, and contaminants are trapped as water passes through its dense network of pores, both by adsorption and by mechanical filtration. Compared to loose granular carbon, a solid block gives longer contact time and prevents channeling, so water can't find a shortcut around the media. These cartridges reduce chlorine, chloramine, pesticides, herbicides, bad taste, bad odour, and a long list of other organic contaminants, leaving your water healthier and tasting great.
