Pentair makes a control board that is used in the Fleck 5800, Fleck 5810 and Fleck 5812 control valves. It is typically used in water softeners and backwashing style filters. It is a 3-button board that looks like this:
The buttons across the front of the board, from left to right, are:
The Next Cycle button can be pressed and held at any time to force the system into a regeneration. Once the regeneration has begun, the same button can be used to skip from stage to stage of the regeneration.
There are some important components on the back of the board:
The Reset Button is a small black button surrounded by a white rectangular support. At any time, the button can be depressed for 30s to wipe the settings from the control board and reset it to factory defaults. Good reasons to do a factory reset include:
Note that if you do a factory reset, you will need to program the board again.
There are some connectors on the back of the board that connect to important components:
If the control board needs to be replaced, these connectors need to be disconnected and reconnected to the new board.
